Toronto Psych Mastermind ROY Trips Out on "Love (Sky Sister)"

It's the second single from the group's new record 'PEACE LOVE AND OUTER SPACE'

Enigmatic Toronto psych prophet ROY is getting ready to release his latest full-length PEACE LOVE AND OUTER SPACE on April 17 via Idée Fixe. Before he does, they've dropped their second single, "Love (Sky Sister)."

The counterpart to T. Rex-indebted first single "Is It You (Sky Brother)," "Love (Sky Sister)" is a mellow slab of psychedelia, with gentle synths, clacking percussion and warm vocal harmonies.

As if the tunes and album title weren't enough to conjure the throwback '60s vibe, the album is accompanied by a lengthy explanation of the album's narrative, a harrowing tale that finds ROY visited by a pair of extraterrestrial beings — Sky Brother and Sky Sister, drawings of whom adorn the album's cover — and gifted a glowing stone, which is later stolen from him.

PEACE LOVE AND OUTER SPACE can be enjoyed in full on April 17, both in standard form and in a special version with a "bonus cassette of synthesizer compositions intended to be played alongside the LP."

Until then, listen to "Love (Sky Sister)" below.
