Todd Terje's stellar It's Album Time almost feels like it arrived a lifetime ago, but the Norwegian nu-disco maestro is finally prepping a follow-up, and he's giving us a little taste.
Tonight (June 1) Terje dropped a new track called "Maskindans" — described as a "cover version" of a very similar early '80s pop jam. The new song comes with some vocal help from the track's original artist Det Gylne Triangel, and along with Terje's new original, the single has been treated to a radio edit and a remix from Erol Alkan.
You can listen to it all play out for yourself below, where you'll also find the original version of "Maskindans" by Det Gylne Triangel. The single will arrive as a 12-inch with the Alkan remix, in addition to the digital version.
"Maskindans" is set to appear on the follow-up to 2014's It's Album Time, though so far details on the as-yet-untitled album have yet to be revealed. Last year, Terje also released a cover EP called The Big Cover-Up.
