With the likes of Christmas, Hannukah and Kwanzaa (just to name a few), December is a month packed with festivities. For the residents of Boston, however, the most wonderful day didn't happen until now. After all, the city's mayor has just declared December 28 to be Mighty Mighty Bosstones Day.
According to the Boston Globe, Mayor Marty Walsh has made the official decree for the third-wave ska hitmakers. Strangely enough, however, when it comes to their official paperwork they won't be able to pick-it-up until tomorrow (December 29).
The official Bosstones day, which we will from now on describe as a ska-liday, coincides with the 20th anniversary of the band's Hometown Throwdon — a three night residency at Boston's House of Blues that runs from December 28 to 30.
Hell, even if you don't live in Boston, you can celebrate Mighty Mighty Bosstones Day by skanking along to the classics below.
