Titus Andronicus Announce 'S+@DIUM ROCK' Live Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished May 3, 2016

With New Jersey punk crew Titus Andronicus nearly ready to get back on the road, it's fitting that the band have announced a forthcoming live album. Their S+@DIUM ROCK: Five Nights at the Opera arrives as a digital release July 29 through Merge, with a limited-edition vinyl version due on August 5.

The collection was captured last July, during Titus Andronicus' five-night stand at New York's Shea Stadium. The run of shows were intended to celebrate the release of their The Most Lamentable Tragedy studio album, as well as band leader Patrick Stickles' 30th birthday. Apparently the concerts were a success, as it's noted that Titus Andronicus are "the first band in the history of NYC DIY to sell out five consecutive nights at the same venue."

Described as capturing the group's "riveting energy," S+@DIUM ROCK delivers live versions of 10 songs from their massive The Most Lamentable Tragedy, including "fresh electric arrangements of the largely acoustic fifth act." The release also includes the debut performance of "69 Stones," an unreleased outtake from the sessions that produced The Most Lamentable Tragedy.

Below, you'll find the full set list, as well as a live video of Titus Andronicus performing "I Lost My Mind" and "Fatal Flaw." The footage comes as part of a full-length concert film that will be released online in the summer.

As previously reported, Titus Andronicus will be touring North America this May with La Sera. They hit Vancouver's Biltmore Cabaret on May 28. You'll find all the tour details here.
