Tinder Is Launching a "Festival Mode"

Reports of a herpes outbreak at Coachella were swiftly debunked by health officials last month, leaving the intersection of music festival and dating app cultures wide open for Tinder to introduce a new "Festival Mode."

Today, the company has announced a new app feature that will allow users to swipe, match and chat with other festivalgoers before even arriving at their respective event.

The company also promises that once users have arrived, the app will give them a chance to get in on "exclusive VIP upgrades, swag, and more." A press release from Tinder notes that app activity increased up to 300 times during Bonnaroo last year.

Tinder's Festival Mode will at first be available for users in the United States and the U.K. American festivals participating in the launch include EDC Las Vegas and Orlando, Firefly, Governors Ball, Hangout, Bonnaroo and more, while U.K. events include Parklife, All Points East, Lovebox and British Summer Time.
