While we had previously learned that R&B singer Tinashe would soon be leaving the mixtape circuit sometime this fall with the release of her first proper studio LP, Aquarius, the singer has just confirmed that it will hit stores October 7 through RCA Records.
A proper tracklisting has yet to be unveiled, but a press release confirms the arrival time. In it, Tinashe describes the upcoming LP as "my official album introduction to the world," adding that it "represents a new season of music and art." The record was written and recorded between London, New York and Los Angeles, and follows a series of mixtapes.
She added, "I cannot wait to finally share with the world what I have been working so hard on for the past few years. This is just the beginning."
Last week we heard the album's sensual hook-up number "In the Meantime," produced by T-minus, and Aquarius is also expected to include Tinashe's recent "2 On" single with Schoolboy Q. Additionally, the album is said to feature a Future collaboration called "How Many Times," and a team-up with A$AP Rocky called "Pretend." Production was handled by the Dev Hynes (Blood Orange), Boi-1da, DJ Mustard and more.
You'll find a quick album trailer, featuring a simmering backdrop of piano and a preparatory speech from Tinashe, down below.
