As if he didn't have the hipness market cornered already, Sonic Youth front-man and Ecstatic Peace label head Thurston Moore has announced plans to launch a new publishing house for art books.
According to the L.A. Times blog, the company is simply called Ecstatic Peace Library, and a catalogue of its initial releases was distributed at this past weekend's New York Art Book Fair. The first batch of books, slated for release in January of 2010, include work from Moore's longtime wife and band-mate Kim Gordon, 1991: The Year That Punk Broke author Dave Markey and influential hardcore punk artist Raymond Pettibon.
The blog claims that the books will include recordings from their respective authors, and that the whole Ecstatic Peace Library collection will be available through Distributed Art Publishers.
