Thick As Blood

Embrace

BY Dave SynyardPublished May 5, 2009

Miami, FL's Thick As Blood are certainly thick. TAB are another band playing Hatebreed-style, or any other straightforward, mosh-styled, hardcore. Embrace is the band's second release and is about as uncomplicated of an album as one could hear in the realm of hardcore — there's little to no melodic interplay and every song features double bass kicks with a heavy amount of down-tuned chugging, with barely any divergence in guitar style. Thick As Blood have pretty much created something completely uninspired, and although their lyrical content regarding positive actions may appear passionate it fails when coupled with their music. Embrace shouldn't be held too close by fans of hardcore, because other bands in this genre do a way better job playing tremulous hardcore than what's offered here.
