Therion

Live in Midgård

BY Laura TaylorPublished Apr 1, 2003

Releasing a double live CD in celebration of the band’s 15th birthday, Therion offer a comprehensive look back over their career. With a surprising concern for representing the live experience of all Therion fans, the band included recordings from clubs as well as great halls, and even apologises for cutting the "O Fortuna” intro off "Seven Secrets of the Sphinx” due to copyright problems. Though Live in Midgård lacks the continuity of a single-show recording, it reveals the many facets of Therion, from the rawness of their early death metal spirit to the polished orchestration of their more recent releases. Live in Midgård is a must for all devoted Therionites, whether you’re reliving a memory or living vicariously.
