The Weeknd Didn't Get Any Grammy Nominations and People Are Pissed

As Kid Cudi put it: "Abel was robbed man this shits weak"

Despite having one of the biggest years in the books — from landing the Super Bowl halftime show to guesting on American Dad and Robot Chicken, as well as hosting his own virtual TikTok concert the Weeknd was majorly snubbed by the Grammy Awards earlier today, receiving precisely zero nominations.

While fellow Canadian acts like Lido Pimienta, Kaytranada, Leonard Cohen, Justin Bieber, Drake and deadmau5 were all nominated, the artist born Abel Tesfaye has been left in the dust despite his multiple, massively successful After Hours hits.

Fans (as well as anyone that's been paying attention) are notably angered and surprised by the snub, accusing the Grammys of racism, robbing Tesfaye of what he deserves and being out of touch, among other things.

"Abel was robbed man this shits weak," Kid Cudi wrote in response to the snub.

Fans of BTS, Harry Styles, Selena Gomez, Rina Sawayama and Zayn have also come out in droves to complain about their favourites missing out on award season.

Despite all the uproar, the 63rd Grammy Awards will air on CBS January 31. The ceremony will be hosted by Trevor Noah. See the full list of nominees here
