The War on Drugs have released two new songs, both coming from the new deluxe version of their 2021 album I Don't Live Here Anymore. "Oceans of Darkness" and "Slow Ghost" are out now.
"Oceans of Darkness" finds the band at their most triumphant and Springsteen-esque, with a pounding beat that hits the snare on every quarter note, grandiose pianos and roaring guitars.
"Slow Ghost" is a little more, well, slow and ghostly, with a stately acoustic guitar arrangement anchoring frontman Adam Granduciel's wistful, nostalgic lyrics.
