Canadian classic rock revivalists the Sheepdogs have shared the alarming news that drummer Sam Corbett has been diagnosed with cancer.
He revealed his diagnosis via a Facebook post yesterday (October 1), informing fans that he'd had a tumour removed recently and was beginning further treatment.
"I caught it very early, and my type of cancer has a super high survival rate (96%)," Corbett added.
He went on to explain that he would not be joining the band for their upcoming U.S. and European shows, but that the band would follow through on the scheduled dates with substitutes.
Finally, he urged fans to continue supporting the band, as "they've given me nothing but amazing support during this tough time," and to throw some extra support his way by donating to the Canadian Cancer Society.
