The Fall Make Unfortunate Reference to Manchester Attack with New Song "Victoria Train Station Massacre"

The band's label says the title is an "unfortunate coincidence"

Just this morning (May 30), Manchester Victoria station reopened for the first time since the UK city was hit by a terrorist attack during an Ariana Grande concert last week. As such, it seems a particularly unfortunate time for the details of the Fall's latest LP to be revealed — including a song titled "Victoria Train Station Massacre."

The track will appear on the long-running UK post-punk outfit's upcoming album New Facts Emerge, which is due out on July 28 via Cherry Red.

The band's label has spoken out about the upsetting title, telling Clash that it's an "unfortunate coincidence" and that the song was recorded long before the attacks took place last week.

"The track is nothing to do with the events last week, but it is an unfortunate coincidence," a label representative said. "The track was recorded and the artwork sent off for manufacture long before the terrible events in Manchester."

The remainder of the LP's tracklist can be found below.
