After living life in the fast lane for more than half a century, the Eagles have announced their final tour. The Long Goodbye will feature special guest Steely Dan, and although only 13 US dates accompany the initial announcement, Billboard reported that the trek is expected to run into 2025.
UPDATE (11/3, 2:50 p.m. ET): Due to high demand, the Eagles have added second shows in four cities on the newly announced leg of their tour — including a second night in Toronto on March 14. Tickets for that will go on sale next Friday (November 10).
UPDATE (10/25, 12:08 p.m. ET): The Eagles have added more dates to the tour, including a Canadian stop in Toronto next March. Tickets go on sale to the general public next Friday (November 3) after a presale set for Wednesday (November 1) at 10 a.m. local.
"Our long run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed. But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle," the band said in a statement.
"We want to give all our fans a chance to see us on this final round… The difficulties of booking venues for multiple nights may require us to return to certain cities, depending on demand. But, we hope to see as many of you as we can, before we finish up. Most importantly, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for embracing this band and its music. At the end of the day, you are the reason we have been able to carry on for over five decades. This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on."
With Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill and Glenn Frey's son, Deacon Frey, in tow, the tour begins on September 7 in New York, and currently stretches as far as a November 17 show in St. Paul. These initial dates go on sale next Friday (July 14) at 10 a.m. local time, following a presale on July 12.
More shows are expected to be announced, so stay tuned! Check out the preliminary itinerary below.
