The Claypool Lennon Delirium

"Cricket and the Genie"

While on paper, a new project combining the talents of Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger's Sean Lennon and Primus bass-slapper Les Claypool seems like a weird collaboration, the two music vets are now jamming out wildly together as the Claypool Lennon Delirium. The first brain-bending taste of the band, a single titled "Cricket and the Genie," has arrived and you can hop on the newly materialized track now.

Claypool pops off various bounding bass lines throughout the piece, while Lennon reveals a series of tunefully psychedelic lines about the titular characters. The arrangement ebbs and flows from acid washed stomps, to distorted and jarring half-time grooves, to fully fuzzed-out explosions of sound. Claypool also adds vocals on the piece, noting "you really ought to try it" on a haunted and chirping finale.

Beyond appearing at this year's Bonnaroo, the act have yet to reveal what their next step is, but you can try their debut on for size down below.
