Having first teamed up for Record Store Day 12-inch "Boa/Cold" back in 2014, UK producer the Bug (a.k.a. Kevin Martin) and drone metal warriors Earth have joined forces once more to release a full-length album. Titled Concrete Desert, the new effort will arrive next month through Ninja Tune.
Ten tracks in length, Concrete Desert is said to be "an astonishing, primal album of vast depth" that includes "pulsing soundscapes, ambient pinks and whites, and irresistible grooves." A press release reveals that record was recorded in Los Angeles with DJ Nobody and was inspired by "J.G. Ballard's urban dystopias, and the Californian dream capital's sordid, fragmented underbelly."
Along with the record announcement, the two have shared "Snakes Vs Rats" as a taste of what's to come from the effort. Concrete Desert also marks the first full-length from either artist since 2014, a year which saw the Bug release Angels & Devils while Earth unleashed Primitive and Deadly. A press release reveals that live shows featuring the two are being planned for April.
Concrete Desert will arrive March 24 through Ninja Tune, with pre-orders available here. A vinyl edition will include a bonus disc featuring album tracks with vocals by JK Flesh (Justin Broadrick).
