The B-52s have announced a farewell tour, beginning this summer and carrying on through the fall. Unfortunately, Canada isn't among the stops on the band's trek.
The original party rockers' "final tour of planet Earth" begins August 22 in Seattle, with support from the Tubes and KC & the Sunshine Band on select stops.
With no shows in Canada at present, performances in Seattle, Boston and New York all look like easy cross-border trips, or maybe the band's three-night stand at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas, or two back-to-back evenings at the Masonic Auditorium in San Francisco would be more attractive if you're looking to "Party Out of Bounds."
However, it's entirely possible that Canadian dates could materialize on a later leg of the trek. On their 40th anniversary tour in 2019, a lone stop in the country came in Toronto. The B-52s were also slated to play 2020's Canada Rock Fest before the event was postponed that year.
That same year, vocalist Fred Schneider told Billboard, "We won't be doing any major tours anymore, but we'll be doing gigs and festivals and things like that ... I'm ready to relax, a little, but we're not going to just stop cold."
The B-52s last released seventh studio LP Funplex in 2008.
