'The Terminator' Score Gets Expanded Vinyl Reissue

While it's as yet unclear if the plates were found somewhere in the ashes of the nuclear fire, a new pressing of composer Brad Fiedel's score to 1984 urban sci-fi classic The Terminator will hit film music fans' turntables this spring. The music will, uh, be back April 8 via Milan Records.

A press release notes that the upcoming soundtrack release was remastered using the original tapes and also sequenced in the order Fiedel had originally intended. The 1984 edition via Enigma Records had placed a few selections of Fiedel's score on one side of the LP and filled out the flip with tracks by Tahnee Cain and Tryanglz, Jay Ferguson and 16mm, and Linn Van Hek.

"I am very happy that I had the opportunity to be involved in this release of The Terminator score," Fiedel said in a statement. "It's exciting to finally put out a version of the soundtrack that is in sync with my original vision of how the score should sound."

The expanded vinyl edition features 17 tracks, including the infamously ominous and synthy "Main Title." It is also being pressed as a double 12-inch release on "red/blue splattered" vinyl and comes packaged in a gatefold sleeve rife with both bone and metal-made skulls.

You'll find a stream of that title music below, where you'll also find the tracklisting.

The revamped The Terminator score is being delivered through Milan's Nicolas Winding Refn Presents series, which has also pressed copies of the scores for Robocop, Bronson and It Follows.
