An upcoming film adaptation of Cats will feature an unlikely cast that includes Taylor Swift, James Corden, Jennifer Hudson and Ian McKellen.
Director Tom Hooper will helm the upcoming interpretation of the long-running hit musical. The screenplay was written by Lee Hall, adapting Andrew Lloyd Webber's Broadway show, which itself was originally adapted from T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats.
The film is a Working Title production, and will be overseen by Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan, who helped Hooper adapt another classic musical, Les Miserables, for the big screen back in 2012.
Dream Girls Oscar winner Hudson has been confirmed to play the role of Grizabella, though it's still unclear which feline characters Swift, Corden and McKellen will play.
Shooting is slated to begin this November in the U.K.
There's also no word yet on whether Meredith and Olivia will make a cameo appearance — and even if they don't, cat mom Swift has nevertheless unveiled a new line of merch devoted to her kitties.
