SZA to Release New Album 'SOS' in December

She's "currently stressed" about meeting the deadline

SZA's long-awaited new album finally has a title. SOS is reportedly out next month.

The singer told Billboard that the album would be coming out in December through Top Dawg and RCA, although she's "currently stressed" about making that deadline.

Billboard describes SOS as "the most captivating music she has ever made, her beloved lo-fi beats sharing space with surf rock within the same track, a grunge record and an acoustic guitar-driven ballad coexisting without either sounding out of place."

This news comes hot on the heels of her new single "Shirt," which dropped in late October. It's the most recent in a slow drip of singles that has also included 2020's "Hit Different" and "Good Days" and 2021's "I Hate U." It's not quite clear if some or all of these singles will be on SOS. Another new song is teased at the end of the "Shirt" video, and she teased "PS" earlier this month.

The album isn't even out yet and SZA is already teasing the fact that she might step back from her music career.

"I feel like music, in this capacity, I don't see longevity," she told Billboard. "I like to create, I like to write, I like to sing, and I like to share. But I don't know if chasing after superstardom or whatever I'm supposed to be doing right now is sustainable for me or for anybody. I'mma take a good swing at it, and I'mma give 'em my absolute best."

SOS follows SZA's 2017 debut album Ctrl.
