"The clock starts now," she shares

Months after celebrating an anniversary milestone for her debut album Ctrl, SZA has returned to tease something new.

Today, the Top Dawg Entertainment artist shared an "official teaser" titled "PSA," directed by Bradley J. Calder. In it, SZA is first found at the centre of a flowing ring of flame, illuminating a darkened street scene. Elsewhere, the singer is seen pouring similarly luminescent, blue liquid onto herself.

Along with a snippet of new music, the clip finishes with the well-known Morse code distress signal "S O S" appearing on-screen.

"Happy birthday to me," SZA wrote in sharing the clip on Instagram. "Clock starts now."

The arrival of a new song titled "PSA" would follow SZA's late October single "Shirt," which you can revisit following the teaser below. That song marks her first solo, non-album track since 2021's "I Hate U," which followed 2020's "Good Days."

In June, SZA shared an expanded deluxe edition of Ctrl to celebrate its fifth anniversary. The album topped Exclaim!'s list of the Best Soul and R&B Albums of 2017.
