Swollen Members

"Shut the Light"

While Swollen Members offered their BAXWAR crew the Beautiful Death Machine LP earlier this year, the Vancouver hip-hop outfit still have a few goodies lying around from the LP's recording sessions. Months after the album's release, the troupe have unveiled an extra called "Shut the Light."

Atop a sped-up sample of Joseph Arthur's "Invisible Hands," we get Prevail weighing in on what it's like to have spent a third of his life as a Swollen Member, while also sending out a jab at muscled-up sausage parties. Madchild likewise delivers a pensive verse, discussing personal pain and getting back on track in the rap game. You can hear their bars down below.

There's apparently even more in store from Swollen Members, with a press release confirming that the long-running act have begun working on their ninth studio album. Though details are slim, it's expected to arrive sometime in 2014 through the group's Battleaxe Records imprint.
