Sunna

One Minute Science

BY Scott WilymanPublished Nov 1, 2000

Jon Harris, the mastermind behind Sunna, played guitar on the Massive Attack masterpiece Mezzanine, and once again is part of another great recording. One Minute Science is a completely unpredictable album that contains beauty, angst and atmospherics contributed by London DJ Flatline. While rather dark and introspective, the music contained here can be inspiring, states Harris: "I think a lot of my songs are quite uplifting, but they are inspired by, shall we say, dark events. Anger is a motivation for songwriting - come to think of it, drugs are pretty effective, too." Extracting everything inventive from the '90s, Sunna elevates with emotive songs like "Forlorn" and "Preoccupation" to produce a most powerful 21st century album. Dead cool.
