North Carolina isn’t exactly renowned for being a fertile breeding ground for high energy rock bands, but somehow, amongst its country, bluegrass and blues, Sullivan have emerged. Throw away your banjos and accordions Carolina! Sullivan are here to shake your world and get you swinging your hips. Their emotive lyrics are set to an upbeat raucousness that is strongly reminiscent of a blending of Hot Rod Circuit meets the Get up Kids with a little bit of their secret sauce to add to the flavour. Although lauded as more by the label and press than they actually turn out to be, this is a band that have the potential to grow on you if you take the time to get to know it.
