Sufjan Stevens Shares Two New Songs "Love Yourself" and "With My Whole Heart"

Sufjan Stevens has returned with two brand new tracks called "Love Yourself" and "With My Whole Heart."

The songs arrive as WorldPride celebrations are about to kick off throughout the month of June, marking 50 years since the Stonewall riots and 50 years of pride celebrations.

"Love Yourself" is based on a sketch that Stevens began more than 20 years ago, and the 1996 4-track demo is also included, as is an instrumental reprise version.

"With My Whole Heart," meanwhile, is a totally new song that came out of Stevens own challenge to himself to write a sincere love song — "without conflict, anxiety or self-deprecation."

The songs will be released as a limited-edition 7-inch as of June 28, pressed on "random gay pride colour" vinyl. For now, though, stream both tracks below.

The two new tunes arrive along with a new gay pride T-shirt, which is available here. A portion of the proceeds will benefit New York's Ali Forney Center and Detroit's Ruth Ellis Center, both of which support homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
