Stereolab have announced the next instalment of their Switched On compilation series. The band will share Pulse of the Early Brain (Switched On Vol. 5) on September 2 via Warp/Duophonic UHF Disks.
Following last year's Electrically Possessed (Switched On Vol. 4), Pulse of the Early Brain collects a pair of tracks from Stereolab's collaborative 1997 EP Simple Headphone Mind with Nurse With Wound, 1992 EP Low Fi, a live version of "Cybele's Reverie" recorded at Hollywood Bowl and more.
"Robot Riot" arrives alongside today's news, and you can hear it below. This previously unreleased comp inclusion was written for a sculpture made by Charles Long, who collaborated with Stereolab on 1995 EP Music for the Amorphous Body Study Center.
As previously reported, Stereolab will embark on a North American tour this September and October, with Canadian stops coming in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

Pulse of the Early Brain (Switched On Vol. 5) is now available for pre-order. The compilation's physical vinyl and CD editions feature 21 tracks, while digital editions contain 16 tracks "due to digital licensing restrictions."
