The Standstills

"Orleans" (video)

Ontario-based duo the Standstills released their latest EP From the Devil's Porch back in the summer, and now they've unveiled a brand new clip for the most recent single, "Orleans." Exclaim! has got your exclusive first look at it right now.

The video for the blues-rock scorcher was fittingly filmed in New Orleans and finds the pair in a motel room. Unable to get the song he's working on just right, Jonny Fox heads outside for some fresh air. He follows a young woman in a bright red dress through the streets, and she guides him through the local nightlife, serving as the inspiration he needs to get the song done. Showing off another side to the city's character, there are also shots of the band performing in a small, but seemingly sturdy boat in a bayou.

One half of the real-life couple band, Fox described that the new record sees and hears them going for "an image that blended westerns, blues and rock'n'roll." You'll get just that by watching the clip for "Orleans" in the player below.
