Moose crossing

The Standstills have etched their named into the Exclaim! history books after becoming the second group to crash their tour van into a moose in Northern Ontario.

The Oshawa rock band announced the news on Instagram, sharing images of their demolished van and the moose in question. They were just south of Wawa on their way to play a show opening for Theory of a Deadman in Thunder Bay on May 6 when the crash occurred.

Although the moose was killed as a result of the crash, the band walked away completely unharmed. They detailed the ensuing mad dash to their concert in their Instagram caption:

After an hour of help from the OPP and CAA we made it to Wawa, where we faced the inevitable... we were stuck and likely going to, for the first time in our bands history... miss a show. Then miraculously as insane as this sounds, at 1:30am an Ontario Northland bus pulls up across the street and the driver (Chris Cavezza) after hearing our story agrees to take us to Thunder Bay AND with ALL of our gear.

The Standstills will do their best to avoid another moose collision during a tour of Europe opening for Eagles of Death Metal.
