Spoon have announced plans to release a full-length dub reworking of their 2022 album Lucifer of the Sofa with On-U Sound founder and UK dub icon, Adrian Sherwood. They'll deliver Lucifer on the Moon on November 4 via Matador.
Billed as "the anti-gravity album companion to Lucifer on the Sofa," the album is previewed today by a very mellow reworking of "On the Radio."
Spoon's Britt Daniel shared of the record in a statement: "It wasn't just a thing where you pick apart this and that and you stay on the grid and you add a delay. He added so much more instrumentation to the tracks that they became completely different versions of the songs. Not just remixes, but companion pieces. A 'Part II.'"
"I got into the melody and the thoughts it evoked in me," Sherwood added. "It just evolved and eventually we found ourselves with a whole album."
