It's fun seeing a label like Hell's Headbangers, who so often focus on the most intense, blackened, evil, war death-thrash around, putting out a release as fun as this one. Denver's Speedwolf are basically Motörhead with more double bass, all scuzzy biker metal, ludicrous sloganeering and fun, dumb riffs. Check out the title track for the best riffs of the album, and check out the rest of the album for non-stop worship of all things Venom, New Wave of British Heavy Metal-ish, and, like I said, Lemmy-related. The only downfall to this release is it does go on a bit long, considering it's a one-trick pony ― 41 minutes of this is pushing it. But when the biggest complaint is too much of a good thing, there are worse crimes against music being committed. Ride with Death is catchy and stupid in all the best ways; it's nothing but a head banging good time.
