Hamilton, ON-based indie institution Sonic Unyon Records has announced the opening of its third concert venue following the success of Mills Hardware and Bridgeworks. Expanding to Guelph, the new Sonic Hall will revitalize a historic space in the city's downtown core: the second level of 12 Wyndham Street, above Frank & Steins pub.
"Guelph has a strong music community and we are looking forward to partnering with the local music scene," Sonic Unyon's Tim Potocic said in a press release. "We are excited to collaborate with artists in Guelph and integrate into the bigger Guelph community."
The new standing-room-only, 230-capacity community space for Guelph's bustling local scene and touring musicians from across the country will have its grand opening on October 4 with a Motown DJ night.
An impressive array of performers — including the Sadies, Le Ren, Menno Versteeg, Hawksley Workman, Great Lake Swimmers, Skye Wallace and more — already have shows booked at Sonic Hall through the rest of the year. Check out the full list of upcoming shows below.
