While they were already pretty damn cool to start off with, a prop team has unveiled a "better, stronger, faster" version of the iconic, LED-adorned helmets worn by the members of French Touch favourites Daft Punk.
Over the weekend, prop-makers LoveProps revealed that they have spent the last two years working on their GM01 helmet, which is described as an "easy to play and fully customizable device for composing music for the eyes."
LoveProps' blog takes a step-by-step look at the making of the helmets, from 3D-modeling the headwear, to the molding and sculpting of the IRL helmet, to hooking up the visor with an intricate software program that triggers various lights via motion and beat detection. Their open source software, SigmaFW, took up four months of the two-year build, and lets users customize LED displays for their helmets.
You can find out more about the specs of the GM01 over here [via Fact].
