The Soft Pack Announce 'Strapped' LP, North American Tour Dates

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 9, 2012

If you were hoping San Diego garage pop outfit the Soft Pack would hurry up and shell out some more straight-forward janglers, today's your lucky day. The band have just announced their next record is called Strapped, and it arrives September 25 through Mexican Summer.

That's pretty well all the info that's been released so far about the new record, though the group did also unveil a stream of new album track "Saratoga." You can peep the juiced-up strummer, which features some bendy lead work and Matt Lamkin laid-back vocals, down below.

Though it's purely speculative at this point, chances are pretty good that the collage of pineapples, geometric shapes, guns and armadillos in the YouTube clip could act as Strapped's artwork. Speculating even further, that looks as if it could also be a makeshift map of the single's namesake city.

In other news, following a few dates in July, the band will take off on a fall tour that will take them to both coasts of the U.S. Along the way, they will head into Toronto for a two-night stand at the Garrison on October 9 and 10. You can see all the dates down below.

The quartet last released a self-titled set in 2010.
