Snoop Precedes Super Bowl with the "Snoop Bowl"

BY Dave SynyardPublished Feb 1, 2008

These days Snoop Dogg is hooked on football the way he used to be hooked on gin and juice. As founder of the Snoop Youth Football League, the multi-platinum rapper will host the Snoop Bowl, a youth football game that will be held at Hamilton High School in Chandler, Arizona this Saturday (February 2), the day before the Super Bowl.

The sixth annual game will feature Snoop Dogg’s All-Stars, a California youth football team coached by the one and only Doggfather, who will square off against a local team of Arizona youth football players. All proceeds will go to the Matt Leinart Foundation, which assists disadvantaged children through building educational centres, organising sports activities and granting wishes.

"The Snoop Bowl gives the kids a reason to work and play hard throughout the season, knowing that it all culminates on this day," said Snoop. "It is about so much more than the game, the Snoop Youth Football League gives kids hope and meaning outside of just the sport."
