Smashing Pumpkins

"Drum + Fife" (live on 'Fallon')

Revisiting last year's Monuments to an Elegy, Billy Corgan took his Smashing Pumpkins to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night.

Performing album highlight "Drum + Fife," the band were about as tight and engaging as we could hope from present-day Smashing Pumpkins. It helps that they're all consummate professionals — the group's current bassist is the Killers' Mark Stoermer, and their drummer is Rage Against the Machine's Brad Wilk.

Watch the Smashing Pumpkins perform on Fallon below. And speaking of alt-rock icons, the Smashing Pumpkins have just announced a tour with Marilyn Manson, the dates of which are available here.
