Six Organs of Admittance Collect Rarities for RTZ Comp

BY Brock ThiessenPublished Nov 6, 2008

With 2008 marking the ten-year anniversary of Six Organs of Admittance, the band’s Ben Chasny is celebrating by digging into the vaults for a new collection of rarities. Titled RTZ, the freaky folkies’ forthcoming offering will collect nearly two hours of almost impossible to find Six Organs releases, as well as some previously unreleased material, all of which will be available as a double-disc set or on three slabs of gatefold vinyl.

Among the material collected on RTZ will be several long-out-of-print split releases (such as "Resurrection" with the Charlambadies, and "Warm Earth, Which I've Been Told" with Vibracathedral Orchestra and Magic Carpithans), subscription-only CDs (You Can Always See the Sun from Three Lobed Recordings) and very limited releases (like the Nightly Trembling LP, of which only 33 copies were originally pressed). Also there will be a chunk of live material included on the set and some early recordings that have yet to see the light of day, which like everything else on RTZ, will be remixed and remastered by Chasny.

No tracklisting has been released yet for RTZ,but it is set to drop on January 20 via Drag City.
