The 2022 Juno Awards will be hosted by homegrown hero Simu Liu, star of Kim's Convenience, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (and a bunch of stock photos, apparently).
The actor will make his way back to his hometown of Toronto on May 15 for the ceremony, which is taking place at the city's waterfront amphitheatre, Budweiser Stage, marking the first time the awards will take place outdoors. The awards' annual Juno Week will also run in the city from May 9 to 15, following the announcement of this year's nominees on March 1.
"It's an absolute honour to be hosting the 51st Annual JUNO Awards," Liu said in a statement. "Canadian entertainment and culture hold a very important place in my heart and getting the chance to experience the festivities in my hometown makes the experience even more special to me."
The 51st annual Juno Awards will be broadcast on Sunday, May 15 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, CBC Listen, and globally at CBCMusic.ca/junos.
Tickets start at $39.95 and go on sale on March 4 at 10 a.m. ET.
