Ever since the Sheepdogs' debut release, Learn & Burn, went platinum in 2010, the Saskatoon rock'n'rollers have garnered plenty of positive acclaim for their work. The band's follow-up self-titled album, produced by the Black Keys' Patrick Carney, dominated Canadian charts in 2012, and earned them multiple JUNO awards and nominations. Thus, it's no surprise that their upcoming full-length, Future Nostalgia, out in October via Warner Music, is greatly anticipated.
In this episode of Exclaim! TV, we caught up with the band at the first ever WayHome Music & Arts Festival in Oro-Medonte, Ontario, where they performed an acoustic rendition of "I'm Gonna Be Myself," a track from their forthcoming LP.
With a stripped-back live setup, the five-piece are still able to deliver a full-sounding acoustic performance, as the guitars and Ewan Currie's vocals are given a rootsy touch with shakers and a tambourine.
