Shannon and the Clams Are 'Gone by the Dawn' on New LP

Shannon and the Clams Are 'Gone by the Dawn' on New LP
Long-running Oakland garage pop trio Shannon and the Clams will follow up 2013's Dreams in the Rat House with yet another entry in their catalogue.

The group's forthcoming fourth LP is called Gone by the Dawn. The album was produced by Sonny Smith (of Sonny and the Sunsets fame) at John Vanderslice's Tiny Telephone Recording studio in San Francisco. [Ed's note: an earlier version of this story misstated the proprietorship of the studio.]

According to a press release, this is the most emotionally charged Shannon and the Clams LP yet, as both Shannon Shaw and Cody Blanchard open up about recent breakups.

Further, it's said to be their most musically advanced, as a write-up promises "their skills are sharper, their chops are tighter and weirder and they've added new instruments to the mix."

Gone by the Dawn will drop on September 11 via Hardly Art. The album's "Corvette" arrives first, with a video available below.
