SCSI-9 have headed in a new direction with The Line of Nine. Its still tech-house, but instead of being gritty dance floor tracks like their previous work, this album is gentler and much more melodic. Tracks like "Elegia and "The Line of Nine are so smooth they are in danger of being called wimpy. "Éclair de Lune samples Debussys "Clair de Lune and then gives it a jazzy swing, which sounds impossible, but somehow works. "Morskaya is certainly the best track on the album, with its great melody and inventive beats. Its not a very danceable album; the melodies are nice, but its a touch slow and not very funky. But as home listening, its quite enjoyable.
