As we reported, the soundtrack for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World is due August 10 courtesy of ABKCO. Now it's been revealed that a deluxe version of that soundtrack is also heading our way with some extra goodies attached.
As The Playlist points out, Scott Pilgrim director Edgar Wright tweeted back in May that "It looks like there is so much music in Scott Pilgrim, we might be talking a two volume soundtrack. How exciting!"
Despite confirmed contributions from Cornelius, Dan "The Automator" Nakamura and Kid Koala - none of which made the original tracklist - there is no word yet on whether or not we'll actually get a full second disc with the deluxe version when it arrives on September 7, or whether all 21 of the songs Beck reportedly wrote for the film will ever see the light of day.
We will, however, get at least three of those extra Beck tracks: the Times New Viking-inspired "Garbage Truck," "Summertime" and "Threshold" will all be included on the deluxe version of the soundtrack, and pre-orders for the digital album will include a bonus video of fictitious band the Clash at Demonhead playing "Black Sheep" (performed on the soundtrack by Metric).
Additionally, a quick perusal of Amazon has revealed that the original soundtrack will also receive a vinyl edition, due August 10, the same day as the CD release.
It's unclear if the deluxe edition will be a digital-only release or get a physical release as well.
