Scott Holt

Holt has been woodshedding away as Buddy Guy's protégé for a decade, and his second album includes members of Hendrix's Band Of Gypsies, SRV's Double Trouble and Buddy himself. Although this release demonstrates Holt's muscular style and his versatility, there's nothing distinguishable from the last guitar hero. He's still a young'un by blues standards, and there are some great tracks here, and if you love guitars they're here in spades, you might be let down by Holt's relatively plaintive white pipes. But stay tuned. The skills are unquestionably here and darkness is always followed by light.
