The Schomberg Fair

'Mercy' (album stream)

BY Alex HudsonPublished Nov 1, 2011

Earlier this fall, Toronto roots rockers the Schomberg Fair announced that they had some new material on the way. This month, some of that upcoming work will come our way in the form of the five-song EP Mercy, which we now have up for streaming online.

Taking inspiration from early blues, psychedelic rock and punk, the disc "lyrically grapples with the inclination to destroy oneself, the desire to be saved, and the hope of better things ahead," according to the press release. This apparently draws heavily on frontman Matt Bahen's previous times living on the street.

Due out November 8, Mercy is reportedly the first of two forthcoming new releases, with a yet-to-be-titled LP expected for release in 2012.

This month, the Schomberg Fair will also be embarking upon an Exclaim!-sponsored Canadian tour, and will launch the CD with a release show in Toronto on November 10.

You can see all the dates below, and at the bottom of the page, you will find that album stream. Also, stay tuned for the Schomberg Fair to pop by Exclaim! TV for some exclusive performances.
