Of all the artists who have spoken out about touring in a post-2020 world, it was perhaps Santigold's statement when cancelling her 2022 North American tour behind Spirituals that has stuck with me the most. "I want you to understand that I am proud to be cancelling this tour when it means that I am proclaiming that I, the person who writes the songs, is as important to me as the songs," she wrote at the time. "I will not continue to sacrifice myself for an industry that has become unsustainable for, and uninterested in the welfare of the artists it is built upon."
With that being said, the singer-songwriter has now announced a select run of North American dates for 2024, including a trio of Canadian shows in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
Santigold's itinerary kicks off on May 4 with an appearance at Beachlife Festival in Redondo Beach, CA. She'll return to Canada in August to play Toronto's Rebel on August 19 and Montreal's L'Olympia on August 20, later hitting Vancouver's Orpheum Theatre for the tour's penultimate show on October 1. The artist will wrap things up on October 3 in Portland, OR.
Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday (April 5), with presales beginning tomorrow (April 3) at 10 a.m. local with the code "WITNESS24." Check out the full schedule of dates below.
