Much-loved Canadian alt-country rockers the Sadies have been promising a new LP for a long time. That album, which is called Internal Sounds, is finally set to drop on September 17 via Outside Music. First, you can stream the whole thing now.
Following up 2010's Darker Circles, the band did work with Jayhawks' Gary Louris in part, but the bulk of the album was produced by singer-guitarist Dallas Good.
In a statement, Good explained that the goal was to take their time. "There was a conscious effort to deliver a finished product that wouldn't suffer from a deadline or budget," he said, adding, "We recorded this record over a span of a year, in session for 20 plus days. By the end, we'd spent every dime we had and used up every favour. There is usually a sense of immediacy to our records, maybe because we make a lot of them. I didn't want that this time."
The resulting 11-song album can be streamed in its entirety below. For a list of the Sadies' upcoming tour dates, go here. Included is a launch show for Hamilton, ON's Supercrawl festival on Thursday (September 12) at This Ain't Hollywood.
