While most folks were popping open the champagne, Halifax producer Ryan Hemsworth capped off his 2012 by releasing a new track called "BasedWorld."
The cinematic track boasts ascendant synths and a triumphant beat. It begins with hushed atmosphere but explodes around the 25-second mark, and while it doesn't really go anywhere from there, it's nevertheless a satisfying slice of misty-eyed electro.
It's worth pointing out that "BasedWorld" is a Lil B reference, since the rapper's website is located at BasedWorld.com. Hemsworth has previously remixed Lil B, so he's clearly a fan.
