Who said figure skating can't be punk? Possibly a lot of people, but also maybe nobody! Either way, the 2022 Winter Olympics figure skating short program got a jolt of punk energy when seventeen-year-old Russian skater Alexandra Trusova earned a silver medal after skating to the Stooges' "I Wanna Be Your Dog" this week.

Trusova won the free skate with a pretty major routine that saw her attempt five quadruple jumps, but she ultimately came in second to fellow Russian Anna Shcherbakova, who scored better in Tuesday's short program.

However, despite an Olympic silver medal being incredibly impressive, Trusova apparently wasn't super happy with the outcome. As reported by Reuters, she broke down in tears prior to the podium ceremony for the women's single event. "Everyone has a gold medal, everyone, but not me. I hate skating. I hate it," she was overheard crying. "I hate this sport. I will never skate again. Never." Trusova should obviously be very proud of nabbing silver, but there are few things more punk than unbridled teen angst.
