Jennifer Herrema has been on a hard rock journey for decades now, starting with noise auteurs Pussy Galore straight through to music history deconstructionists Royal Trux and onto the sleazy, hard-rockin' ensemble RTX. Three years after the "unapologetically balls-to-the-wall" JJ GOT Live RaTX, Herrema's current ensemble have announced a flurry of activity that includes tour dates and some new material.
First up is a short West Coast trip in September that will take RTX to two Canadian cities: Vancouver and Victoria. The outfit will be bringing along Nashville garage outfit Heavy Cream, which is fitting as both bands can promote their side of an upcoming split seven-inch. "Killer Weed"/"Deadbeat" will be issued sometime in September on Volcom, but the bands will have copies on tour.
While the thought of a new RTX song is tantalizing enough, a press release informs us that the band will also be premiering a whole host of new tunes that will be cropping up on their next album RAD TIMES IV. The set is due sometime early next year on Drag City.
Tour dates:
9/2 San Diego, CA - Tin Can Alehouse*
9/3 San Francisco, CA - Parkside Lounge*
9/4 Eureka, CA - The Alibi*
9/6 Olympia, WA - The Brotherhood*
9/7 Vancouver, BC - The Waldorf Hotel*
9/8 Victoria, BC - Logan's Pub*
9/9 Seattle, WA - Funhouse*
9/10 Portland, OR - Mississippi Studios*+
