Robert Glasper has returned with a new song, alongside news of a third instalment in his Black Radio album series. While the record itself has yet to be detailed, Black Radio 3 is expected to arrive in 2021 through Loma Vista Recordings.
The first song to arrive from Black Radio 3 is "Better Than I Imagined," which finds Glasper collaborating with H.E.R. and Meshell Ndegeocello. You can take it in with an accompanying video animated by Gianni Lee below.
Glasper explains in a statement that "Better Than I Imagined" is dedicated to the "value and virtue" of Black love. He writes, "No one wants a life without love, but we have generations of people in our community who haven't had the tools to actually be in healthy relationships. It seems like people are finally ready to open their eyes to systemic racism in this country, and if we're going to talk about it, we have to also talk about how it affects our relationships."
Earlier in 2020, Glasper teamed with Kamasi Washington, Terrace Martin and 9th Wonder for a full-length debut as Dinner Party. Last year saw the release of his Fuck Yo Feelings mixtape.
