RJD2 (a.k.a. songwriter/producer RJ Krohn) hadn't unveiled any samples from his forthcoming More Is Than Isn't LP when he announced it earlier this month, but the heady beatsmith is now unveiling the first taste via a stream of its "Her Majesty's Socialist Request."
The track is bursting with flavour, incorporating a bombastic old-school hip-hop beat into a fast-clapping rhythmic assault. As for the melodies, you have chunky, distorted synth blasts glueing into a 12-bar blues melody, while elsewhere RJD2 settles into the hypnotic lull of an Eastern flute loop or a boogie-woogie piano.
